Discover Golf in the Gorge
The Columbia River Gorge is our country’s fist declared National Scenic Area. It offers many outdoor recreational sports and activities that include hiking, kayaking, snowboarding, windsurfing, mountain biking, kiteboarding, and of course, golf. If you like alpine sports like snowshoeing, cross-country, skiing, telemark, or snow boarding, Mt. Hood and the surrounding National Forest offers most of these year round. There are not too many places in the world where you can snowboard in the morning and then play nine holes in the afternoon.
The lifestyle here is a trademark and has made it much easier for businesses to attract highly educated and creative people. Folks coming to the Gorge have learned to take advantage of the recreational resources as well as seeing the industry opportunities grow.
All year long the Gorge is host to many performing arts, handmade crafts fairs, and music festivals. On the first Friday of each month, downtown Hood River (Mar-Nov) has arts, crafts, and music at many stores and restaurants providing opportunities to see and hear the creativity of the people that live here. Reflected in all of these different crafts and mediums is a lifestyle that is vibrant and pervasive. The Gorge is home to many award winning wineries and all offer tours with tasting rooms.
Over the last 30 years the communities around the Gorge have embraced their agriculture background with Saturday Markets, Blossom, Pear, Cherry, Apple and Wine Festivals. The outdoor lifestyle has created a unique environment for those who are interested in combining their drive for recreational activities with a cultural experience that continues to expand. Waterfalls, trails, rivers and all these activities aside, there is an amazing geological story about how this area was formed and the Discovery Center is certainly a must see.
Many residents and travelers alike have found that the outdoor lifestyle here in the Columbia River Gorge has had a profound impact on their professional pursuits and their quality of life. People who live here feel closer to nature and understand the need to participate in its preservation.
Indian Creek Golf Course is very sensitive to this understood goal and the responsibilities that come with it. Lifestyle does make a difference here in the Gorge and we are proud to be a part of it.
